Welcome to the world Miranda Ceres Dunlop

Welcome Little One
It is the morning of your life and
all of your dreams are just beginning.
May you touch fireflies and stars,
dance with fairies, and talk to the man in the moon.
May you grow up with love and gracious hearts and poeople who care.
Welcome to the world, little one,
it's been waiting for you.

Our little angel was welcomed in to this world in a peaceful home environment at 4:20am on 5 March 2009 after a 3hr labour. Her name is Miranda Ceres (pronounced sair-ees) Dunlop and she weighed 8lb 7oz and was 53cm in length. While her Dad was away her Ma Power was there to witness the special event.

The Weighing In
I am forever grateful to my midwife Sonya for her wonderful support throughout the pregnancy and birth.

The Clean-Up
For those of you who offered tarps, rubbish bins etc to get rid of the waste from the home-birth, here's proof that it's not as messy as you think! My second midwife Pamela was a pillar of support also.

Miranda Ceres

Miranda is of latin origin and its meaning is "worthy of admiration". The name was invented by Shakespeare for a character in his play "The Tempest". Ceres is of latin origin and its meaning is "of the spring". Ceres was also a character in "The Tempest".

The First Few Hours

We were both tucked in to bed safe and snug after the big event for some much needed rest. It was so wonderful to be in our own bed!
Ma Power had a big night and so did Jock - Grandad Power took him back to their place to sleep while Miranda was being born but they came back after they managed to get some sleep.

Jock loves his little sister and is good at cuddling and kissing

First Girls Outing

My first outing was when I was two days old - Mum and I went to Ella Bache so that Mum could have her manicure (booked prior to my suprise arrival!). I can hardly wait until I can join Mum in such activities.
